First setup


In this tutorial, we will walk you through the following steps:

  • install the ReachView 3 app
  • connect to Reach RS2
  • perform firmware update

To do that, you will need Reach RS2 itself, a Wi-Fi network with Internet access, and a smartphone or tablet.

Install ReachView 3

To manage Reach RS2, we recommend using the ReachView 3 app for iOS or Android. Get it from the App Store or Google Play before updating.

Using Reach with Android devices

Some Android devices have the Battery optimization setting enabled by default. Make sure you disabled it for ReachView 3 to avoid disconnection.

Power up Reach RS2

To power up your Reach, follow the steps below:

  1. Hold the power button for 5 seconds to turn the unit on.

  2. Wait for about 30 seconds until the Power LEDs will stop blinking and the Network LED stays solid white.

Reach RS2 is now broadcasting Wi-Fi.

Connect to Reach RS2

Using Reach with Android device

Turn off the mobile data on your device before connecting to Reach's hotspot.

To connect to your Reach, follow the steps below:

  1. Open a list of Wi-Fi networks on your smartphone or tablet.

  2. Connect to a network named reach:xx:xx.

  3. Type network password: emlidreach.

Once you successfully connected to Reach's hotspot, you can go to ReachView 3 and set up connection to your Wi-Fi network.

Make sure that your Wi-Fi network uses 2.4 GHz band.

To connect Reach to your Wi-Fi network, follow the steps below:

  1. Open ReachView 3 and choose your Reach from the list.

  2. Tap the Set up Reach button to open Updater for the further setup process.

  3. On the Updater page, tap the Plus button in the Wi-Fi section.

  4. Enter your Wi-Fi network name, security type, and password.

  5. Tap the Connect button.

Reach RS2 will stop broadcasting Wi-Fi and connect to your network. The Network LED will blink rapidly while scanning for networks. Once Reach connects to Wi-Fi, the Network LED will be solid blue.

When the connection of Reach with the Wi-Fi network is established, you can connect to your unit using ReachView 3:

  1. Connect your smartphone or tablet to the same Wi-Fi network.

  2. Open the ReachView 3 app.

  3. Choose your Reach from the list of available devices.


    If there is only one receiver, the app will automatically try to connect to this Reach.


    If your device did not connect to a Wi-Fi network, it will switch back to hotspot mode. In that case, repeat the steps and double check your network name and password.

Update Reach firmware

After connecting to Reach RS2, the app will check the available firmware updates. Follow the steps below to get the latest update:

  1. Tap on Set up Reach to open the Updater page. Wait until it checks for the latest update.

  2. If there is an update available, press the Update Reach button and wait.


    This process will take a few minutes.

  3. When the update is complete, you can set the name of your Reach device. Enter the new name of Reach and tap Save.


    You can leave the default name for your Reach. Tap on the Skip button to skip the step.

  4. Tap Reboot and go to the app! to reboot Reach RS2.

  5. Wait for the Network LED to stop blinking, showing that Reach RS2 has joined your Wi-Fi network again. Close the Updater page.

  6. Refresh the list of available devices.

  7. Choose your unit from the list of available devices.


    If there is only one receiver, the app will automatically try to connect to this Reach.

After first setup

Your Reach RS2 is ready for work. Do the same with all other units.
