This guide shows how to record logs for Post-Processed Kinematic and download them using ReachView 3.
Post-Processed Kinematic or simply PPK is a technique that requires processing raw GNSS logs from both base and the rover to receive an accurate positioning track or separate points after the survey.
To learn more about PPK, check the How PPK works article.
To record logs for PPK, perform the following steps both on your base and rover:
Go to GNSS settings and set the update rate at 1 Hz for the base and at 5 Hz for the rover.
Go to the Logging screen.
Tap Settings in the Raw data section.
Choose the RINEX format and tap Apply.
If you do not know which version of RINEX you need, we recommend using RINEX 3.03.
While recording in the RINEX format, you can record the UBX file as a backup. Tap the gear icon to access Logging settings and check the box marked Backup source data for RINEX.
Select satellite systems.
Make sure that you have chosen the same set of satellite systems both on the rover and the base.
Set the logging interval at Full rate (as in GNSS settings).
Use the antenna height and enter the measured height to the bottom of the receiver.
Leave the Marker name field empty.
You can start recording automatically when your receiver is turned on. Check the corresponding field in the settings.
Enable log recording by tapping Start recording.
Stop log recording by tapping the End recording button.
Wait for data processing to finish.
To download logs, follow the steps below:
Go to the Logs section at the bottom of the Logging screen.
You can also find information on the logs size and recording date and time here.
Tap the Download logs button.
Save your log depending on the device you use.
If you do not need your logs anymore, you can delete them using the Edit button.
When your logs are downloaded, you can start working with your data in Emlid Studio.
